Back in December 2020, Samsung officially released the third generation of One UI, One UI 3. This version of One UI is based on the 11th generation major version (Android 11) of Google’s Android operating system.
After announcing this news, Samsung has begun to release the One UI 3.0 firmware update to the Galaxy S20 series of phones globally. So far, every flagship store and many mid-range enterprises have received this upgrade. In addition, the remaining devices will get the One UI 3.0 update until the second half of this year.
Other than this, the Korean tech giant launched the Galaxy S21 series of advanced in January 2021. These S21 phones are pre-installed with the One UI 3.1 version based on Android 11, which is an upgraded version of One UI 3.0.
The One UI 3.1 brings some new features and improvements over the One UI 3.0. Furthermore, we’re waiting to witness the One UI 3.5 that will launch and exclusively come with the upcoming Galaxy Note or Galaxy Fold smartphone.
What about One UI 4.0?
The One UI 4.0! By taking a look at the naming history of Samsung for its custom skin, anyone can easily answer that it will be the One UI 4.0 and will be based on the upcoming Android 12 operating system. Following its habit, the company will start developing the One UI 4.0 after the announcement of Android 12.
Samsung One UI 4.0 Release Date:
Just after the official launch of Android 12, Samsung will start the One UI 4.0 beta program for developers. And the users of the Galaxy S21 series may be the first to be invited for the One UI 4.0 beta testing program around October 2021. After the different phases of beta testing, the Korean tech giant may start delivering the stable One UI 4.0 to these phones later this year.
Meanwhile, we have already started hearing about the upcoming version of Android that is Android 12. As of now, reports suggest that Google will release the first developers’ preview of Android 12 later this month. However, Google is expected to launch the Android 12 around September this year.
What will be the features of One UI 4.0?
As we know, Samsung brings exciting new features and improvements with every version of the One UI. However, we can surely expect that the One UI 4.0 will also come with an optimized user interface, added features, improvements, new functionalities over the previous generations.
