Samsung has started to roll out a new software updates to Galaxy Note 9 devices. With the latest update, the 2018 Note flagship product will receive the February 2021 security patch, which fixes 32 high-level and 4 critical-level CVEs.
This software update is currently rolling out in Germany. Since it’s an initial rollout, so the newer security update may take some time to cross the boundaries of Europe to become available for every Note 9 user
In addition to the latest security patches, Galaxy Note 9’s software update also enhances system functions, improves system stability, and fixes some unknown issues to provide a better user experience.
This is not good news, but according to Samsung’s revised Android update policy, Galaxy Note 9 is no longer eligible for another Android upgrade. This means that these devices will not get the One UI 3.0 feature based on Android 11. Moreover, One UI 2.5 is the last major feature software update for Galaxy Note 9 phones.
On the other hand, the Korean tech giant is still sending out security updates once a month, and will provide regular security updates for this older flagship store for two consecutive years. For now, you can follow the steps below to check for the February 2021 security update.
How to check for updates:
- Open device’s Settings
- Scroll down and select Software updates
- Hit the Download and install option.
