The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has concluded its investigation into the crash of the SN9 interstellar spacecraft released by the US space exploration technology company SpaceX on February 2 and announced that SpaceX can obtain a permit. Proceed to the next test.
This Tuesday, SpaceX tested its starship prototype SN9 in Boca Chica, Texas, and successfully sent it to an altitude of about 10 kilometers as planned, but SN9 failed to set its posture in time, an explosion occurred on landing.
The reason for the failure of the SN9 spacecraft’s test-firing was that the rocket engine failed to reignite when attempting to land, resulting in insufficient thrust to resist gravity when the SN9 landed, and contrary to earlier tests, it crashed at an angle.
According to reports at the end of last year, the SN10 spacecraft was assembled at the Boca Chica factory in southern Texas at that time, and its release date is not yet known.
