New Huawei’s patent shows VR display technology for head-mounted devices

Back in2017, Huawei filed a patent for Head-mounted display content capture and sharing. The technology was approved in China in February 2021 under the publication number CN109076165B.

This patent document describes goggles for virtual reality, which includes a goggles-shaped body on which multiple cameras are installed. The display is supported by the goggle-shaped main body, extends between the sides of the goggle-shaped main body, and includes a plurality of cameras.

The circuit receives video by connecting multiple cameras, where the video includes a synthetic field of view of about 360 degrees around the goggles, and the circuit sends the received video to the network processing service and from the wireless communication device by connecting to the wireless communication device.

The network processing service sustains the stereoscopic 3D virtual reality video, and the circuit also provides the received spliced stereoscopic 3D virtual reality video for display through further connection.

For those who do not know about VR headsets, it is a head-mounted device that provides virtual reality to the wearer. Virtual reality (VR) headsets are widely used in video games but are also used in other applications, including simulators and trainers.
