Samsung will launch a Galaxy Book Go, equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx PC processor

Samsung will release a Galaxy Book Go around May, equipped with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8cx PC processor. The leaked PPT explains that the Samsung Galaxy Book Go will be equipped with a 14-inch FHD screen, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c and 8cx processors are available.

The specific model of the latter is 8cx Gen X. By looking at the performance, the CPU performance and GPU performance of 8cx Gen X are increased by 10 and 40% respectively compared to the original generation. On the other side, this notebook will be equipped with 4GB/8GB LPDDR4X memory and 128GB/256GB UFS flash memory.

In January, there was news that Qualcomm is currently developing the Snapdragon SC8280 that may be a follow-up product of the Snapdragon 8cx and 8cx Gen 2.

According to the data of the test system, the size of the Snapdragon SC8280 is 20×17 mm that is larger than the current 20×15 mm and may have more than 8 cores. The first generation of Snapdragon 8cx was released in December 2018, using the 7nm process.

It is the first 7nm PC processor released by Qualcomm and can be regarded as an enhanced version of the Snapdragon 855, the second generation of Snapdragon 8cx was launched in September 2020. It has the same 7nm process as the Snapdragon 8cx, is equipped with a Snapdragon X55 5G modem, and adds Wi-Fi 6 support.
