Sony announced, ‘Suoya Music Rights Company’ will be officially renamed ‘Sony Music Distribution Company’

Sony declared that the current ‘Suoya Music Rights Company’ will be officially renamed ‘Sony Music Distribution Company’. Along with this, to celebrate the name ‘Sony Music Distribution Company’ after returning after 25 years, Sony released a new brand with a new design logo and revitalization mission.

Sony Chairman, President, and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida stated: ‘Sony Music Distribution’s vibrant new brand expresses our commitment to continuous innovation as a leader in music and entertainment.

Jon and Rob continue to advance Sony’s business, and for artists and music creators around the world to consolidate our reputation as a ‘creative entertainment company built on a solid technical foundation.’

As a company dedicated to empowering music creators, I firmly believe that its inclusive brand message will enable People are united more closely than ever before.”

Sony/ATV was established in 1995 as a joint venture with Michael Jackson, combining the original Sony Music Distribution Company with Michael Jackson’s ATV music.

The original ATV Music Company was acquired by Michael Jackson in 1985. The company owns Northern Songs. Northern Songs owns John Lennon (John Lennon) and Paul McCartney (Paul McCartney) during the Beatles period. Copyright of all songs created.

In 2016, Sony acquired a 50% stake in Soya Music Copyright held by the Michael Jackson Heritage Management Committee, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony.
