Earlier, the Shanghai Super Factory was put into production, Tesla’s Fremont factory was their only vehicle assembly plant that undertook the production of Model S and Model X. 3 and Model Y are first produced in this factory.
At the same time undertaking the production tasks of a variety of electric vehicles, also made the Fremont factory more crowded, and the factory was not rich.
During the critical period of increasing the production capacity of Model 3 and when producing Model Y, they also set up simple tents in the factory area.
To build a production line in the tent, Tesla has submitted an application to the local government of Fremont, and they plan to increase the factory and expand the number of plants.
In the submitted application documents, Tesla intends to build 64,000 square feet or about 5,945.79 square meters of facilities.
The report that the area planned to be built in the application document is exactly where the Model Y tent production line is currently located, which means that Tesla plans to turn this area into a permanent production facility.
