Samsung released PM9A3 U.2 high-performance SSD, uses sixth-generation 3D flash memory

Samsung declared that it will give Chinese data center customers a new generation of high-performance solid-state hard drives PM9A3 U.2. PM9A3 U.2 supports PCIe 4.0 and is a product specially created by Samsung Semiconductor for Chinese data center customers.

PM9A3 U.2 uses Samsung’s sixth-generation 3D flash memory (V-NAND) technology, based on the NVMe protocol, completely complies with the Open Computing Project (OCP) NVMe cloud solid-state drive specification, and can meet the requirements of the data center in terms of performance, power efficiency, and reliability Provide high-level solutions in terms of security and safety.

PM9A3 U.2’s 4K steady-state random read performance is 1100K IOPS, and the sequential read speed is 6900MB/s that is 2.2 times and 2.16 times faster than the previous generation product PM983 U.2, and, at 304MB/s per watt in the sequential write performance, compared with the previous generation products, the energy efficiency ratio has been improved by 61%.
