The Nintendo Switch series of consoles ranked first in sales in many countries, and its supporting games also occupy multiple positions in the total sales of electronic games. The new Switch Pro will be equipped with a Samsung OLED panel with a resolution of 720P.
The new product is confirmed to be equipped with a Samsung OLED panel that will be upgraded from 6.2 inches to 6.99 inches that are supposed to eliminate the ‘horse racing frame.’
Nintendo recently purchased 500,000 screen panels from Samsung every month in order to ensure a sufficient supply of new game consoles when they are released. Taking into account the production and shipping time of the product, DSCC expects that Switch Pro will be released in September 2021.
The current Switch utilizes an LCD panel if it is replaced with an OLED screen, the brightness and color performance of the game will be greatly improved. But when displaying a lot of white screens, OLED screens consume more power than LCDs.
Switch Pro will support 4K resolution video output and image enhancement technology similar to NVIDIA DLSS, and the product may be postponed until 2022.
