software updates

Microsoft 365 roadmap, indicating that the real-time voice transcription function is being released in the Teams application on Windows and macOS platforms.

Microsoft officially released the Office series of applications Microsoft Teams at the Office conference on November 2, 2016, giving a complete online meeting solution that can integrate chat, meeting, calling, files and applications into a unified In the shared workspace.

Microsoft Teams permits users to communicate and share files instantly, and users can create channels as needed. In July 2020, Microsoft declared a series of updates to Teams, including real-time transcription and video filters.

During the user’s video call or meeting, real-time voice transcription can transcribe the voice into subtitles, and mark the name, avatar, and time of the speaker.

Additionally, users can record these transcripts during the meeting and download them to a Word file after the meeting. However, meeting organizers and administrators can delete saved transcripts through the Teams desktop client.

It is worth mentioning that real-time voice transcription is a very good feature for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or working in noisy environments. But participants require to run Teams on the desktop client to use it, and it cannot be used on web applications.
