HTC is expected to launch a lip tracker for VIVE VR headsets
HTC VIVE officially launched a tweet on March 5 to teaser the upcoming release of a new VR head-mounted display. This device will be HTC’s first new product in 2021.
On March 9th, HTC still preheated the new products in a veiled manner and launched a picture of the hinge with the copy of ‘Express Yourself’, suggesting that it will be an input device.
The whistleblower Rλmes VR directly released the real shot of the product. From the picture, it can be seen that the device is probably a lip tracker and is suspended under the VIVE headset.

HTC has previously demonstrated early versions of the eye tracker and lip tracker. The virtual character in the demonstration can move with the eyes and lips of the person in reality, so as to achieve the effect of real-time dynamic capture in similar special effects.
HTC has not yet declared the launch time of the new product. Earlier, it was revealed that HTC’s next-generation VR headset project was ‘Project Proton’, suggesting that the experience of this product is very close to ordinary glasses. It is supposed that there will be AR augmented reality functions.
