Sony released the Ver.4.00 software of the A7III mirrorless unit, adding a new function of FTP transfer that improves the overall stability of the camera.

- Can transfer still images during shooting or playback.
Added some FTP transfer functions:
- It is possible to narrow the scope of the transfer destination, such as protected images or untransferred images, and transfer these images in batches.
- You can only transmit the image being played back by pressing the custom key.
- All images can be automatically transferred when shooting.
- RAW files and JPEG files shot in the RAW&JPEG file format can be set to be transferred to the FTP server at the same time.
Updated the target folder setting
- You can register 9 FTP servers (previously 3).
- You can change the destination folder setting on the FTP server.
- >Save the image data directly in the selected folder.
- > Register the memory card slot in the folder setting.
- >Register the same folder settings as the camera.
- Improved the operability of the FTP transfer function.
- The items under the FTP server settings can be set through the smartphone ‘Transfer & Tagging add-on’ application.
Improve the overall stability of the camera
Sony will update the A7 series full-frame mirrorless cameras to the fourth generation this year. The new device will inherit the 5-axis anti-shake function of the previous generation, increase the resolution to 30 million pixels, will be equipped with a Bionz XR processor, and support up to 4K 60fps video shooting.
