Apple AirPods Max’s software update effectively solved the battery life problem
After AirPods Max updated the firmware ‘3C39’ on March 9, Twitter blogger tested it, and the test showed that this software update effectively solved the battery life problem of AirPods Max.
Guilherme Rambo tested the battery consumption of AirPods Max before and after the firmware upgrade to see how much battery life was lost when AirPods Max was in a smart headset case.
Battery consumption is measured at half-hour intervals. His tests showed that AirPods Max lost more battery power before the firmware update. For the firmware upgrade, if you don’t use AirPods Max within 30 minutes, it will enter the ultra-low power consumption mode.
Before the firmware update, AirPods Max will enter the low-power mode directly after putting it into the smart headset case, and enter the ultra-low-power mode after 18 hours, but Apple has not updated the supporting documents to reflect this change.
There is no clear way to update the firmware of AirPods Max like the iPhone, but if you connect AirPods Max to a power source, listen to music for a few seconds, and then connect them to your iPhone or iPad, you will usually be forced to update the AirPods Max firmware.
Users can check the firmware on AirPods Max through the following steps:
- Connect your AirPods Max to your iOS device.
- Open the “Settings” application.
- Click General.
- Click About.
- Tap AirPods.
- Check the number next to “Firmware Version”.
