Apple Silicon MacBook is expected to promote Mac shipments this year to set a new record

Barclays analysts stated that they expect Apple to set a record for Mac shipments in the 2021 fiscal year. Driven by the new crown virus pandemic and Apple Silicon Mac, Apple’s Mac demand is strong.

There are rumors that Apple intends to launch redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models using Apple Silicon chips in the second half of this year. At least one supplier is planning to expand production capacity to cope with strong demand.

Taiwanese maker Huatong Computer’s high-density circuit board production capacity in the first half of 2021 has been booked out and will increase production capacity in the second half of the year to help alleviate this situation.

Huatong Computer will record strong performance in the first half of 2021, supported by the mass shipment of new MacBook and iPad circuit boards. Nikkei Asia recently reported that Apple will begin mass production of two new MacBooks using Apple Silicon in the second half of the year.

This time period should give sufficient time for Apple’s suppliers to step up production so that new products will be available later this year. The redesigned iMac with Apple Silicon chips is also expected to be unveiled sometime this year.

According to well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new MacBook Pro models will have a brighter display, Mini-LED backlight, a new design, flat top and bottom sides, HDMI interface, and SD card, reader. It utilizes the classic MagSafe charging, equipped with a magnetic power cord, and physical function keys to replace the Touch Bar.

Apple stopped disclosing product sales a few years ago, but in the first quarter of 2021, Apple announced a record quarterly revenue of $8.7 billion in Mac quarterly revenue. The first three M1s were custom-designed by Apple, the chip Mac was released this quarter.
