Microsoft released KB500156X cumulative update, to fix bug

Microsoft released the KB50008 series of updates in March 2021 that caused blue screen failures on some printers. The system versions involved include Win10 1803 to the latest Windows10 20H2 and other systems. Microsoft previously confirmed this bug and gave a temporary repair tutorial.

Microsoft officially pushed the KB500156X cumulative update to fix this bug:

  • Windows 10 version 20H2/2004 – KB5001567
  • Windows 10 version 1909/1903 – KB5001566
  • Windows 10 version 1809 – KB5001568 (Enterprise Edition, Education Edition)
  • Windows 10 version 1803 – KB5001565 (Enterprise Edition, Education Edition)

To get this update, use the shortcut key Win+I to enter the settings and open Windows Update to see it. According to the official update log, this KB500156X update solves the blue screen failure when using certain applications and certain models of printers.

This failure occurred on a printer with a driver version of ‘Type 3’, and an APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error will be prompted when a failure occurs.
