Xiaomi will become the world’s third-largest smartphone maker in 2021

The latest research report released by Strategy Analytics pointed out that in 2021, global smartphone shipments will rebound by 6.5% year-on-year to 1.38 billion units.

Strategy Analytics smartphone analyst Abhilash Kumar said: ‘In 2021, we believe that Xiaomi will surpass Huawei and become the world’s third-largest smartphone manufacturer. Xiaomi has performed well in the Indian and Russian markets and has strong momentum in Central, Eastern, and Western Europe.

Commenting on the regional prospects of Chinese manufacturers, Sui Qian, Senior Director of Strategy Analytics, added: ‘2021 will be the year of Chinese smartphone manufacturers. In the Asia-Pacific region, through vigorous marketing, expanded channel coverage and competitive pricing, Vivo, Xiaomi, and OPPO will become TOP 3.

The report also pointed out that in Africa and the Middle East, Transsion will surpass Samsung to become the largest manufacturer, and Samsung will fall to second place. Xiaomi will surpass Apple to rank third. In the Western European market, Xiaomi will rank behind Apple and Samsung and will consolidate its third place.
