The electric car Lucid Air under the electric car startup Lucid Motors will become the world’s first car equipped with Dolby Atmos surround sound technology.
As reported, Dolby Atmos technology has been applied to movie theaters, recording studios, mobile devices, and other fields. Today, this technology will be applied to the automotive field.
As the first car equipped with Dolby Atmos technology, Lucid Air will give car owners an immersive audio experience. Lucid Motors stated that vehicles that integrate Dolby Atmos technology will improve safety through enhanced driver assistance features.
The Dolby system will use notifications, instructions, warnings, and other audio signals to remind drivers and passengers that these sounds sound as if they are from the location of the passenger.
Lucid Motors is regarded as Tesla’s strongest American competitor, and the company released its first electric car, Lucid Air, on September 9, 2020. Lucid Air has 4 editions, namely Air Touring, Air Grand Touring, Air Dream Edition, and Lucid Air Pure.
Depending on the choice, the subsidized price of Lucid Air will be between US$69,900 and US$161,500. Now, all models can be booked, but a deposit of $300 is required that is refundable.
The company originally planned to start producing Lucid Air at its Arizona electric vehicle plant in the spring of 2021, but recently the company announced that it will postpone production of this car until the second half of this year.
The basic version of Lucid Air Pure will be available in 2022, Air Touring will be available at the end of 2021, Air Grand Touring will be available in mid-2021, and Air Dream Edition will be available in the spring of 2021.
