Noctua, released NH-U12S redux side-blowing CPU air-cooled radiator, supports PWM speed

Posted on

Noctua, a radiator manufacturer, officially launched the NH-U12S redux side-blowing CPU air-cooled radiator yesterday. This product is the first product in the redux series. The fan blades are gray, which is more cost-effective than the previous version.

The radiator is designed with four heat pipes, and the heat pipes and the copper bottom are plated with nickel. The product is equipped with an NF-P12 redux-1700 fan with a diameter of 12cm, a maximum speed of 1700 rpm, and supports PWM speed regulation.

This radiator utilizes Owl’s patented SecuFirm2 fastener system that is very easy to install. The radiator is 158mm high and 125mm wide, and its compact size will not block the memory stick.

The bottom of the Owl NH-U12S redux radiator utilizes a mirror-polished CPU contact surface and comes with high-performance silicone grease, which prevents users from smearing by themselves.

The redux series products are reduced versions of the previous products, and the fan noise has increased from 22.4dB to 25.1dB. In addition, the connection method between the heat pipe and the heat sink fins has changed from reflow soldering to a simple through Fin process, and the heat conduction speed is somewhat reduced.

Owl’s previous heat sink gave its own NT-H1 thermal grease, while the redux series products no longer come with a separate needle tube thermal grease, but apply it in advance.

The standard version of Owl NH-U12S is priced at RMB 480 in China. Redux is not currently on sale in China. The value is US$49.9, which is approximately RMB 325.
