Apple AR headsets will be equipped with an eye tracking system: Kuo

Posted on

Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo launched the latest Apple research report, claiming that Apple AR headsets will be equipped with an eye-tracking system. Apple headsets will be equipped with an eye-tracking system. The system includes a transmitter and a receiver.

The transmitting end gives one or several different wavelengths of invisible light, and the receiving end detects the change of the invisible light reflected by the eyeball and judges the eyeball movement based on the change.

The report predicts that because the transmitter may have different wavelengths, the production process is complicated and time-consuming. The size and shape requirements of the transmitting end module of the head-mounted device are very different from those of general electronic devices that also increases the difficulty of production.

The unit value of the transmitter module is high. The report pointed out that it is still impossible to determine whether the Apple headset supports iris recognition, but from the perspective of hardware specifications, the eye-tracking system of the headset can support this feature. If the Apple headset can realize iris recognition, it is expected to bring the Apple Pay method when users use the headset.
