Nintendo’s latest switch will adopt Nvidia SoC to support DLSS

Posted on

Nintendo’s new Switch will use Nvidia’s new SoC and support DLSS. The new chip will improve GPU and CPU performance and give a DLSS solution for a 4K resolution image display.

DLSS is NVIDIA’s deep learning super-sampling technology. Turning on on the RTX series graphics cards can greatly improve the frame rate performance of high-resolution games.

People familiar with the matter, including a number of game developers, said that supporting DLSS will need to add new code to the game, so it will be mainly used to improve the picture quality of upcoming games.

The new Switch will be equipped with a 7-inch OLED screen. Nintendo launched the Switch model in March 2017. In September 2019, Nintendo launched Switch Lite. The news broke that Nintendo plans to release a new Switch model at the end of this year.
