The Elec reported that the research company UBI Research recently stated that Samsung plans to start producing low-temperature polycrystalline oxide thin-film transistor OLED displays for Apple in the first half of 2021.

LTPO displays consume less power than standard OLED displays and will be used in iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, the two models are codenamed D63x and D64x.

A well-known tipster further confirmed that Apple is testing the new iPhone 13 Pro series with a Samsung LTPO 120Hz screen.

The Elec stated that Apple will use LTPO TFT OLED panels in the high-end iPhone models launched in 2021, and these panels will be provided by Samsung. LG Display will give standard LTPS TFT OLED panels for low-end models.

Apple’s higher-end iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will use a faster 120Hz refresh rate to achieve a technology similar to iPad ProMotion.
