Google will provide a game mode for Chrome OS

Currently, Google Chromebook notebooks have gradually increased their global market share, and they have quickly become popular in the education market by virtue of their low prices.

A developer found the word ‘Game Mode’ in the Chrome OS code. According to the code description, the system will automatically turn on the game mode when the Borealis window is displayed on the full screen.

Borealis is the name of the Steam game platform in Chrome OS and has not yet been officially released. When the game mode is turned on, the user’s mouse will be locked, the process priority of the game window will be increased, and functions such as game screen recording will be brought about.

Google Chromebook can already utilize Stadia and GeForce NOW two cloud gaming platforms to enjoy 3D masterpieces on low-performance notebooks.
