MSI will raise price of graphics cards due to a shortage of chips

The chairman of MSI stated that in 2020, MSI’s net profit increased by 42% year-on-year to approximately US$ 276.9 million, with earnings per share of NT$9.42, both reaching the highest levels in history.

Among them, notebooks, desktops, and monitors contributed 43% of the revenue, graphics cards, motherboards, and other components accounted for 53%, and other products accounted for 4%.

MSI also stated that in 2020, 30% of the company’s revenue will come from North America, 37% from Europe, and 33% from the Asia-Pacific region. Both North America and Europe have higher revenue growth rates than the Asia-Pacific region.

MSI’s profit in the fourth quarter of 2020 was lower than expected. The chairman stated that this was due to factors such as currency exchange rate changes, delays in shipping of raw materials, and increased marketing expenses at the end of the year.
