Nintendo’s new controller patent leak, with joystick drift problems

Nintendo Switch consoles have been complained about since the launch of some Joy-Con controllers with joystick drift problems. In July 2020, Nintendo also officially confirmed the problem and apologized to users.

A few days ago, the main USPTO of tubing up has published a new patent design drawing of the Joy-Con handle. The patent was submitted in 2018 and was not approved until March of this year.

It can be seen from the patent picture that the handle uses the Circle Pad joystick used on the previous 3DS. The Circle Pad joystick fits the handle better than the traditional joystick, and it is also expected to solve the drift problem of the traditional joystick.

But the operation is not as strong as the traditional joystick, you need to rub your fingers to play. Along with this, the new handle patent exchanges the positions of the joystick and the cross key.

And two independent buttons are used below that are expected to be more comfortable when operated with a single handle. Nintendo’s new Switch console has a complicated release time, but a lot of configuration information has been leaked.

The new Switch will be equipped with Nvidia’s Lovelace architecture chip, support DLSS, and is expected to be furnished with a 7-inch OLED screen.
