Upcoming iPhone SE features 4.7-inch display, 2023 version to have hole punch Full-Screen design

According to the latest info, the next-generation iPhone SE that’s set to launch in 2022 will feature the same 4.7-inch display as the current version, according to display analyst Ross Young.

The existing iPhone SE is modeled after the iPhone 8 with a 4.7-inch display. There were rumors that Apple was working on an iPhone SE Plus, which could come out this year, but Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in March that the new iPhone in the SE family would not be available until 2022.

Ross Young confirms that there is no need to wait for the new iPhone SE this year. It will appear in 2022 with minor changes, while more radical design changes are expected in 2023. Apple is reportedly working on a 6.1-inch version of the iPhone SE that has a hole for the front camera.

The hole in the screen has been actively used in the Android world over the past years to maximize the available display area. On Apple devices, a flush-mounted front camera will eliminate bangs.

The iPhone SE, due out in 2022, will receive an upgraded SoC and support for 5G, which Young said could be limited to below 6GHz.
