Call of Duty’s Activision has revealed that fraudulent software in Warzone contains malware designed to control a victim’s computer. It can be described as karma. According to Wise Reports, Activision security researchers have found that the Warson cheat software advertised on popular fraud forums has more content than it appears on the surface. It secretly installs the dropper on the device, allowing other types of malware to be downloaded to the computer.

One of the goals of the malware campaign is to install a mining machine on the victim’s computer and mine cryptocurrency using the game player’s graphics card without the victim’s knowledge.
Activation believes that the programs needed to run “real” fraudsters allow many malware tools to bypass system security and upgrade licenses. Many fraudsters recommend that users disable their anti-virus software to ensure compatibility with the system, as malware infects PCs without warning.
Although this method is very simple, in the end, it is a social engineering technique used to manually reduce the security defenses of the target (players who want to cheat) and ignore warnings about malware execution.
“Call of Duty Warzone” has 75 million players as of August 2020. Although this number is now very low, fraud is still a big issue. Since the activation began, 300,000 people worldwide have been banned, 60,000 of whom were banned in a single day.
