Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 to come with dual folding mechanism

Samsung is continuously working to promote folding screen mobile phones since the launch of its Galaxy Fold. In 2020, the company launched the dual-line strategy of Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip, and the practicality of folding screens has greatly increased, which has produced fruitful results.

Presently, the Korean phone maker’s two folding screen mobile phones adopt two different forms – clamshell-type folding and left and right folding, but it is still not satisfied with the status quo.

According to the latest information, Samsung is developing a next-generation foldable smartphone, which will feature a dual-folding functionality alongside greater shape changes. While unfolded, it can offer at least a 10-inch display, whereas in the folded state it will switch to a normal smartphone.

Previously, it was said that Samsung is likely to adopt a double-folding design for the first time on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Moreover, several tipsters also leaked the rendering of this upcoming phone along with its design.

Aside from this, some reports also claim that the company has internally developed two double folding methods. One of them adopts a form of opening and closing similar to a card while the second uses a “Z” shaped folding method.

However, the “Z” shaped foldable phone will bring a higher thickness compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Although the screen size has increased again, it is a huge blow to portability. Lastly, Samsung is expected to officially launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 around May this year.
