New Apple iPhone 13 concept shows smaller notch and adjustment in the selfie camera
Japanese supply chain blog Macotakara exposed Apple’s upcoming iPhone 13 Pro model. The new iPhone has a smaller notch and changes the design of the front camera.
This iPhone 13 Pro model should be made according to the leaked schematic diagram of the supply chain. Before Apple officially releases the new iPhone, accessory manufacturers usually share this type of information.
Macotakara pointed out that the iPhone 13 Pro has a notch height of 5.35 mm and a width of 26.8 mm; while the iPhone 12 Pro has a notch height of 5.3 mm and a width of 34.83 mm. This means that the iPhone 13 Pro notch may be narrower and slightly taller.
This may be because Apple moved the earpiece speaker to the top of the iPhone 13 and therefore lowered all the components slightly. This design change was initially aimed at last year’s iPhone 12 product line, but it was not realized in the end. The iPhone 12 has the same notch design as iPhone X, iPhone XS, and iPhone 11.

Apple is considering moving the front camera from the right side of the iPhone notch to the left side. There is no clear explanation for this change, but it may be related to the internal layout of the sensor.
