April 2021 security update rolling out for Samsung Galaxy Note 20

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones back in 2021, which come with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 out of the box. Presently, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are running on the latest One UI 3.1 version based on Android 11 OS.

Now, the Galaxy Note 20 lineup started getting a new software update, which carries build versions N986BXXS1DUD1 and N981BXXS1DUD1 for the Note 20 Ultra and Note 20 respectively.

The latest software update is currently rolling out in Germany, which improves the system security of the Galaxy Note 20 phones by installing the April 2021 security patch.

Other than the security improvements, this update doesn’t come with any new features or system optimizations. Furthermore, Samsung is likely to release the April 2021 security bulletin anytime, which details the revisions of this newer security patch.

Since it’s an initial rollout, so the company will expand the availability of this firmware to other regions in the coming days. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that these phones have recently begun receiving the same software update in the US.

Back in February 2021, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra received the One UI 3.1 features via OTA. Besides, the recent firmware update added a number of new camera features such as ultrawide camera support for Portrait Mode, Night Hyperlapase mode enhancements, and more.

If you want to check for the update manually, just head into the device Settings, select the Software update menu, and tap on the Download and install option.
