PS5 and Xbox Series X users may face issues until mid-2022: Report

The appearance of new generation consoles on the free market will have to wait for a long time. According to a report from the world’s largest electronics manufacturer Foxconn, the shortage of essential components could last until the second quarter of 2022 and even longer.

The company is the largest manufacturer of electronics and components, including those for Google and Microsoft. Limited availability looks set to have a profound impact on next-gen consoles and AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards.

Foxconn CEO Yang Liu said manufacturers will be producing 10% fewer products than previously estimated. This is due to the lack of microcircuits. The demand for them is now 10-30% higher than the production capacity. In this scenario, this does not even mean that the consoles will definitely be freely sold in the middle of next year.
