Samsung’s operating profit in the first quarter of this year likely to increase by 45%, chip business profits may drop by 20%
According to analysts’ forecasts, Samsung Electronics’ operating profit in the first quarter of this year will increase by 45% to 9.3 trillion won (approximately US$8.2 billion), a record high since 2018. Revenue is expected to grow by 12%, thanks to intelligence.

The operating profit of the TV and home appliance business is expected to more than double to around 1 trillion won.
Although global chip demand remains high, the operating profit of Samsung’s semiconductor division is expected to drop by about 20% to 3.6 trillion won. Analysts expect losses related to the shutdown of the Texas chip factory to reach 300 billion to 400 billion won.
