Sony has confirmed that it will permanently close digital stores for PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PSP in the summer of 2021. This is expected to happen between July 2 and August 27, 2021. After that, players will no longer be able to purchase new digital games and add-ons (previously purchased games will still be available).

The VGC has conducted an informal analysis of what players will lose if the Japanese company’s decision does not change.
More than two thousand PS3, Vita, and PSP games are gone. Most of them are on other platforms, PlayStation consoles or PC, but about 120 games will be gone forever. Certain games will receive Xbox exclusivities, such as Beyond Good and Evil HD, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and both Bionic Commando.
VGC estimates that there are 630 digital games for Vita, 730 digital games for PS3, 293 PlayStation Mini, 336 PS2 Classics, and about 260 classic PS1 games (for PSP and Vita).
