Asus ROG STRIX G15 with Radeon RX 6800M and Ryzen 9 5900HX key details exposed
AMD’s flagship Radeon RX 6800M RDNA 2 discrete mobile graphics card recently appeared on Asus’ high-end gaming notebook ROG STRIX G15. The specifications of this AMD notebook have appeared in the CPU-Z Database. The notebook model is ROG STRIX G513QY, which is a member of the G15 family.
This gaming notebook uses AMD’s CPU and GPU, including AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU and AMD Radeon RX 6800M discrete GPU. In terms of specifications, AMD Radeon RX 6800M will eventually use 2560 cores and 40 Ray accelerator units.
Navi 22 GPU also has 96 MB Infinity Cache, so we can expect it to remain unchanged in the mobility part. It is clearly pointed out that the GPU has 12GB of VRAM (GDDR6) and will run through a 192-bit bus interface. Earlier leaked news suggested that the final TGP of the top Navi 22 GPU may be between 146-135W.

In terms of CPU, AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX provides 8 cores and 16 threads, based on the Zen 3 core architecture. The chip has 16MB of L3 cache and 4MB of L2 cache.
The base clock of the chip is rated at 3.30GHz, and the acceleration clock is rated at 4.70GHz. The basic TDP of the CPU is 45W, which can be configured to 35W. APU also has 8 Vega calculation units, a total of 512 SP units.
In addition to using AMD’s CPU and GPU, the ASUS ROG STRIX G15 (G513QY) notebook will be equipped with 16GB of DDR4-3200 memory, 2TB of Samsung SSD storage space, and a 15.6-inch panel with a maximum resolution of 1080p and support for 300Hz Maximum refresh rate.
The specifications of this notebook are quite high-end, so the price of this device is expected to be about 2000-2500 US dollars.
AMD did confirm that it’s Radeon RX 6000M Mobility GPU will be available for retail in the first half of 2021, so we can definitely look forward to an announcement in the next few weeks.
