Industry sources predict MediaTek is likely to become the world’s largest mobile chip provider this year. The key to this is the increase in the supply of single-chip systems (SoCs) that support work in 4G and 5G networks.

MediaTek product sales for January and February reached $ 2.376 billion, up 78% from the same period last year.
In terms of 5G support, the company offers the Dimensity 700, 800, and 1000 series of SoCs aimed at entry-level, mid-range, and premium smartphones, respectively. It has also updated its 4G SoC lineup to improve its competitiveness.
MediaTek’s strength lies in its close relationship with TSMC, allowing mobile SoCs to be shipped quickly thanks to the contract semiconductor manufacturer’s readiness to fulfill orders.
As per the report, for most of the first-tier chip designers outside Taiwan, the lead times for the semiconductor products they order have increased. If earlier they were 20-30 weeks, now they exceed 30 weeks.
