Take a look at what Samsung’s first foldable tablet looks like

On February 16, 2021, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) granted Samsung Electronics a patent for a “display device.” The patent is now also included in the database of the World Intellectual Property Organization. The 18-page documentation shows and describes the new Samsung Galaxy Tab with a flexible display.

The tablet is equipped with a single foldable screen, which has no holes but received cutouts in the area of the hinge part. The source says that in these places there is a camera and flash, which will be convenient to use in landscape orientation.

This will be the only camera of the device since there is no secondary display or main camera on the outside of the case. On the left is the on/off button and speaker, on the right is another speaker and a USB-C connector.

There is no cover screen available and no camera is visible on the front or back of the housing. This makes the mobile device look particularly sleek and elegant. If you open the Samsung tablet, a large flexible display unfolds. The screen edges have been kept very minimal so that the camera system cannot be processed in the bezel.

In its place, Samsung has made a small recess in the screen on both sides at the height of the hinge. The camera and flash are incorporated here, handy when you use the tablet PC in landscape mode. This is also the only camera integrated on this tablet.

It is not yet known when Samsung will unveil the foldable tablet. The manufacturer plans to launch the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 this year.
