Perhaps because of the competitive pressure brought by Apple Silicon, Intel launched a series of advertising campaigns for the M1 MacBook earlier and even invited Justin Long, who has appeared in the classic “Get a Mac” advertisement.
Recently, however, another sharp-eyed Reddit user discovered Intel’s contradictory move. In a promotional article, discerning people can recognize at a glance that the company is using MacBook Pro photos to promote its 11th-generation Core i7 mobile processor.
As shown in the screenshot, Intel claims that the i7-1185G7 is currently on the market as “the most suitable processor for thin and light notebooks.” As a member of the 11th-generation Tiger Lake mobile processor family, we will not dispute whether the company’s “confidence statement” makes sense.

Because sharp-eyed social media users have almost immediately recognized the laptop used in the ad, which looked like a 15- or 16-inch MacBook Pro. In fact, none of the current MacBook notebooks is using i7-1185G7.
After digging deeper, some Reddit users found that the original image appeared to be from a gallery photo, marking someone playing a game on a laptop.
Although the technique of covering up the Apple Logo is very awkward, it does not prevent us from identifying the MacBook Pro through the iconic Touch Bar.
