Microsoft tweets to celebrate its 46th anniversary
Microsoft celebrated its 46th birthday on April 4th. The tech giant’s social media team tweeted to celebrate this milestone and reviewed the long and interesting history of the company’s logo in a series of tweets. It all started with the first black and white picture of the company logo in 1975, you can see the picture below:
Interestingly, another version of this logo in 1975, “Micro” superimposed on “Soft”, was also used that year. This version is now colored with a 70s color palette (see above) and is currently a new profile photo of the Microsoft Twitter account. This is also in the same line with the modern design aesthetics currently used by most companies.

As of this writing, the 1980 and 1982 Microsoft logos have also been released. The next logo comes from the 1987 logo. It may be the one you are most familiar with. It should be added in a new tweet sometime later today. The 2012 logo is the logo used today, of course. Will follow up soon.
In addition to the nostalgic logo, the Microsoft Twitter account has also been posting tweets about the old Altair computer. Knowing it, you are a fan of retro technology.
