Samsung smart monitor offers Hybrid for home office and home entertainment

Whether a smartwatch, washer dryer, or steam oven – more and more hybrid devices can be found in our everyday lives. The multifunctional all-rounders are not only practical because they combine several devices and functions.

They often also reflect our zeitgeist – because, since the outbreak of the pandemic, many of us have been working, living, learning, and living more flexibly than ever before. So it’s time for the hybrids to move into the home office. Curtain up for the Samsung Smart Monitor.

With the Smart Monitor, Samsung is presenting a hybrid device type that can combine home office and home entertainment: thanks to the integrated Samsung Smart Hub and WLAN adapter, apps for Netflix 1, Amazon Prime 1, and other streaming portals can be used without an additional device. Stereo speakers and remote control are also on board. The Smart Monitor thus offers a home entertainment experience similar to that of a Samsung Smart TV.

To transform the entertainment hub into a business monitor, the mouse and keyboard are linked to the screen via Bluetooth or USB. E-mails and documents can be called up from the cloud with the Smart Monitor and common Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint can be used – provided you have an Office 365 subscription.

If you want to access other programs and locally stored files, you can connect the Smart Monitor to a compatible computer, for example in the office, using a remote function. Compatible devices such as laptops, PC, smartphones, or tablets can of course also be connected to the screen by cable or wirelessly via Samsung DeX, Tap View 2, Casting, or Apple AirPlay 2.

The Smart Monitor offers the Smart Hub for home entertainment in the evening and remote control for work during the day.

The Smart Monitor is available in two model variants: The M7 has a diagonal of 32 3 inches, has a high-resolution UHD screen, and a USB Type-C interface, via which compatible smartphones and tablets are connected to the monitor and charged at the same time can. The M5 model variant offers full HD resolution and is available in sizes 27 4 and 32 5 inches.

Steam ovens, smartwatches, and music-playing refrigerators

Hybrid devices can make our everyday lives easier and more enriching. This does not only apply to the smart monitor. Some refrigerators are no longer used exclusively to keep food fresh, but also play your favorite playlist on Spotify.

Various smartwatches show the time, measure blood pressure, count the steps taken, and can be used to pay. Washer dryers that not only clean the laundry but also dry it at the same time, not to mention steam ovens as hybrid devices consisting of an oven and steam cooker. The future is exciting – and hybrid.
