Intel’s first true gaming graphics card live image leaked with higher performance than GeForce RTX 3070

A lot has been said on the web about the Intel XE-HPG video card – the first real model for gamers, and now its live photos have appeared. They have a video card in the classical sense with two fans and a large heatsink pierced with heat pipes. This is what a powerful model should be.

In addition there is no doubt that it will be powerful, there is a GPU with 512 execution units and a frequency of up to 2.2 GHz – about the level of the AMD RX 6000 line models. 16 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit bus is also mentioned.

Obviously, the gaming performance here will be uncompromising, but with such parameters of the memory subsystem, cryptocurrency miners can also turn their views on the new product – unless Intel comes up with some tricks in this regard.

Two connectors for additional power supply six- and eight-pin – indicate a decent level of TDP. According to new data, it will amount to 275 W versus 225-250 W, initially assumed.

Intel XE-HPG performance (this model is part of the DG2 line, which will include GPUs for both desktop PCs and laptops) is expected to be about halfway between the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080.

That is, it will compete directly with the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti when she sees the light. Moreover, XE-HPG, in addition to supporting real-time ray tracing, is also credited with support for XeSS technology – an analog of DLSS, so the performance in games promises to be very good.

Judging by the characteristics, Intel XE-HPG could revive the market in times of severe shortage of Nvidia and AMD video cards, but if it does it, it will not be soon it will be launched into the series only by the fourth quarter of this year. So if XE-HPG appears on store shelves this year, then in very small quantities, but already in 2022, it will be easier to buy it.
