Musk: Tesla’s FSD Beta 9.0 version is almost ready, no need to rely on radar

Musk said that this version is a purely visual solution and does not rely on the radar.

The FSD Beta 8.3 update that Tesla planned to release in April 2021 was shelved due to “major structural changes” and Tesla will directly release version 9.0 to replace it.

Musk initially stated on March 7 that due to the high demand for the FSD beta, the company is adding the “download beta button” function to Tesla vehicles. He also encourages Tesla owners who have purchased the FSD option to join the development plan to allow their cars to drive autonomously as they wish.

On March 13, Musk announced on Twitter that he planned to expand the FSD Beta to more than 2,000 car owners, and at the same time, he canceled the qualifications of some beta drivers because they did not pay enough attention to the road.

Out of concerns about road safety, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been paying attention to Tesla’s FSD function since 2019.
