Musk: Tesla’s FSD Beta 9.0 version is almost ready, no need to rely on radar

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter that the Beta 9.0 version of FSD (Full Self-Driving) is almost ready, and he emphasized this step-change The improvement is huge, especially in dealing with strange extreme conditions and bad weather. Musk said that this version is a purely visual solution and does not rely on the radar.

In addition, Tesla’s CEO also revealed that FSD will replace Tesla’s autopilot system and provide technical power for The Boring Company’s investment project in the Las Vegas Loop Tunnel.

According to Elon Musk, Tesla’s fully automated driving test version has now reached version 9.0, bringing the company many improvements to its autonomous driving functions. After this update, the vehicle’s cornering ability and adaptability to bad weather will be improved.

The FSD Beta 8.3 update that Tesla planned to release in April 2021 was shelved due to “major structural changes” and Tesla will directly release version 9.0 to replace it.

Musk initially stated on March 7 that due to the high demand for the FSD beta, the company is adding the “download beta button” function to Tesla vehicles. He also encourages Tesla owners who have purchased the FSD option to join the development plan to allow their cars to drive autonomously as they wish.

On March 13, Musk announced on Twitter that he planned to expand the FSD Beta to more than 2,000 car owners, and at the same time, he canceled the qualifications of some beta drivers because they did not pay enough attention to the road.
