Google Maps for iOS updated after for the first time in four months

Posted on

After completing the full deployment of the “privacy label” for the App Store application, Google updated the Google Maps application for the first time in four months.

In December of last year, Apple began to require all newly submitted and updated apps to include a privacy label, detailing the data collected by the app. Moreover, Google didn’t implement the application privacy label until February, and the Google application had not been updated for several months.

In mid-February, when users log in to a new account in the iOS Gmail app that hasn’t been updated for too long, they will receive a warning that they should be updated, and it is recommended to continue logging in only when they “understand the risks”. Google Maps updated the privacy label of the app in early April. Like Google Photos, it was one of the last apps to obtain data collection details.

At present, Google Maps has complied with the App Store rules. This update is small in scale. It only fixes some bugs and improves the application, but Google can now add other functions at will.
