Semiconductor industry revenue increased in 2020 by 10.4% with Intel and Samsung holding the top positions

The market research organization Gartner recently released a report saying that according to statistics, the global semiconductor industry’s revenue in 2020 increased by 10.4% year-on-year to reach 466.2 billion US dollars.

Among them, Intel is the leader, with a revenue of 72.76 billion U.S. dollars last year. Samsung Semiconductor’s revenue is 57.73 billion U.S. dollars, ranking second. Hynix and Micron ranked third and fourth respectively.

Moreover, Qualcomm’s revenue last year was 17.63 billion U.S. dollars, surpassing Broadcom’s 15.75 billion U.S. dollars to rank fifth and Texas Instruments ranked seventh.

Besides, MediaTek in Taiwan, China, benefited from the large shipments of 5G chips. Last year’s revenue reached 10.99 billion U.S. dollars, rank from 13th to 8th. In addition, Nvidia and Kioxia ranked ninth and tenth respectively.
