The White House issued order to US government to install new patches for the Microsoft Exchange mail server

The White House cybersecurity official issued an order to various government agencies to install new patches for the Microsoft Exchange mail server because the server software has loopholes that may be exploited by hackers.

A few days ago, the US National Security Agency found 4 vulnerabilities in the software and reported them to Microsoft.

Anne Neuberger, the deputy national security adviser in charge of networks and emerging technologies, said in a statement: “We are aware that vulnerabilities may bring systemic risks, so it is necessary to disclose them in a timely manner.”

Besides, Microsoft claims that it has not found anyone exploiting the vulnerability so far, but hackers will study new patches to see what Microsoft fixes, and then hackers may use the vulnerability to attack unpatched computers.

At the beginning of this year, more than 20,000 Exchange servers in the United States were attacked. These servers were mainly used to process the WEB version of Outlook mail.
