Epic games value reaches $30 billion, thanks to Sony’s $200 million investment
Epic Games has announced it has raised $1 billion in a new round of funding. Sony has invested $200 million in Epic Games. This isn’t Sony’s first investment in Epic Games, as the Japanese company invested $250 million last year.
Epic Games reports that after this funding round, it is now valued at $28.7 billion. The capital will be used by the company to build social networks in the popular Fortnite and Rocket League games.

Recall that Epic Games and Apple are in litigation over an attempt by the gaming company to avoid paying the 30 percent App Store commission using its own payment system. Following this step, Apple removed Fortnite from the App Store.
Epic Games has accused Apple of trapping people in the mobile world and collecting “excessive commission” on the App Store, which is the only source of digital content for Apple users. The next hearing, in this case, is scheduled for May.
