Microsoft is about to kill the Windows Timeline function, or become less useful in the next version of Windows 10. Windows Timeline is a feature in Windows 10. April 2018 Update released by Microsoft on May 1, 2018. Windows Timeline allows users to search all activities up to 30 days ago on the device.
Furthermore, the search scope includes applications, documents, and websites. When logging in to a Microsoft account on Android, iOS mobile devices, and using Edge or Office 365, users can also send tasks from the Android or iOS device to the Windows 10 PC, and continue to complete the previous processing on the mobile device.
In the new Win10 preview build, if users use a Microsoft account, Microsoft has turned off the synchronization function of Windows Timeline, which indicates that the Timeline function will be killed when the Windows Sun Valley update is launched.
Microsoft has now canceled the ability to upload new activities in Timeline when the user’s device uses a Microsoft account. Users can still access the Timeline interface through the task view, and the most recent applications will be listed. However, the content will not be synchronized on the user’s Windows device or Android.
Besides, Microsoft has previously removed the Timeline function from Microsoft Launcher for Android. Windows Timeline synchronization support is quite convenient for those who have multiple Windows devices and want to switch between them quickly and easily, and now these people should be disappointed.
