SK Hynix declared the start of mass production of a new generation of enterprise-class SSD hard disk PE8110 E1.S with a maximum capacity of 8TB. The certification was completed at the end of March and shipped to customers in May.
In June 2019, SK Hynix released the world’s first 128-layer 4D flash memory, and based on this flash memory, launched a new generation of enterprise-level hard drives, with a variety of specifications. Among them, the 2.5-inch SATA is SE5110 and the PCIe has three types-M .2, E1.L, E1.S.
Compared with the previous generation of PE6110 series hard drives that use 96-layer flash memory, the read speed of the PE8110 E1.S series has increased by 88%, and the write speed has increased by 83%.
By looking at the performance, the PE8110 E1.S hard disk can write 4GB of high-definition movies in 1 second, with a maximum capacity of 8TB, and can store 2000 movies.
On the other side, the performance of the PE8110 E1.S hard drive has risen sharply, but the power consumption is the same as the previous generation, energy efficiency is better, heat generation has also been reduced, and the warranty period has been extended from 3 years to 5 years.
