Firefox 88 Firefox browser will disable FTP, and related codes will be completely removed in June
Firefox announced last year that it would stop supporting the FTP protocol. However, due to the epidemic, this plan was postponed to 2021.
However, the FTP protocol is an ancient network protocol that can transfer files between the server and the client. Due to security factors, the protocol has been abandoned by many browsers.
Officials recently announced that the 88 version released on April 19 will completely ban the FTP protocol. By June, the FTP-related code will be completely deleted.
At the same time, in order to avoid causing inconvenience to some users, FTP has been added to the Protocol_Handlers support list, and the extension will prompt users to switch to other software for FTP transfer.
Furthermore, Google canceled support for the FTP protocol in the Chrome 88 version.
