MediaTek’s 5G chip process exceed Qualcomm and won OPPO/Vivo/Xiaomi orders: Report
MediaTek is sprinting for high-end technology. It is reported that its new generation of 5G flagship chips is produced from the originally expected 5nm process and upgraded to 4nm. At the same time, 3nm products are launched.
Taiwan media pointed out that MediaTek’s mass production progress is expected to be comparable to that of Apple, and it has already won orders from major manufacturers such as OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi.
According to the latest report, as the performance of 4nm process chips is better than 5nm, the unit price of MediaTek’s new 5G flagship chip product will be pulled up to 80 US dollars approximately 522.01 yuan, which is much higher than the current average unit price of 30 to 35 US dollars.
MediaTek said that it could not comment on the product blueprint and process usage, and only emphasized that TSMC has always been the company’s most important partner.
