Samsung LCD TV prices expected to rise by 10%-15% due to chip shortages
Samsung will fire the first shot of LCD TV price increases due to the price increase of TV panels and the shortage of chips. The Samsung new product launch conference in Taiwan, China is expected to be held on April 22 and will announce an increase of 10% to 15% price.
In addition, affected by copper prices, shipping, and container prices, white goods will increase by about 10%, and the market expects that the time point will begin in May. White goods refer to electrical products that can replace people’s housework, including washing machines and some kitchen appliances.
The head of Samsung in Taiwan, China, said on the 16th that there was no denying that dealers reported that Samsung’s LCD TVs would increase their prices by 10% to 15%. The final pricing will be announced at the LCD TV new product launch conference on the 22nd.
Moreover, Taiwan media pointed out that Samsung is the world’s largest LCD TV brand. Samsung’s price increase will trigger the industry to follow up. After all, TV panel prices have been rising since June last year, and downstream brands can no longer withstand the pressure of substantial cost increases.
